Name What You Feel Worksheet
Name What You Feel | Emotion Identification & Communication Worksheet
Help students find words for what they’re experiencing. “Name What You Feel” pairs an emotion word bank with simple reflection prompts, giving students a starting point when “I don’t know” is the only answer that comes to mind.
Students can check the words that fit, identify their strongest feeling, and reflect on what they need or want someone else to understand.
Students will explore:
Words that describe how they feel right now.
Which feeling stands out the most.
What happened before the feeling showed up.
Their needs and what they want to communicate to others.
What’s included: One black-and-white worksheet featuring a 20-word emotion bank with checkboxes, four guided reflection sections, and open writing spaces.
Use with middle and high school students during individual counseling, small groups, emotional check-ins, or social-emotional learning activities. It works well as a session opener or as support for students who need help putting their feelings into words.
