The jasmine or blue jasmine, marshmallow, tears, leganyes (Plumbago auriculata) is a species of plant in the family Plumbaginaceae (Plumbaginaceae) originating in South Africa used in gardening in areas with a Mediterranean climate or warmer. This species also receives the linguistic variants jarámí blau and malbec. It is a shrub that reaches up to two meters high, and is characterized by being in bloom for most of the year. When climbing using pre-existing structures it can reach six meters in height and three in width. Grown in a container, the dimensions are much smaller.
