Split Digraph Activities- Dog

Bring phonics to life with these fun, hands-on dog-themed activities designed to help children practise recognising and using split digraphs.

Children will enjoy matching dogs to the correct kennels by reading names with split digraphs, strengthening their decoding skills in a motivating, visual way. They will also match each dog to its favourite toy, using their knowledge of split digraph sounds to make the right connections.

To reinforce learning further, children will take part in a “spot the split digraph” challenge, identifying split digraphs within a short passage. Finally, they will complete a missing split digraphs activity to complete dog related sentences.
