The Woodford Sock is a toe-up sock with a fleegle heel knit seamlessly in the round. Named after the subdivision where I grew up and inspired by the creeks I spent my summer in, the Woodford is a simple knit with a lace panel and a feminine ruffle cuff. Both socks are worked identically.
The Woodford sock is knit toe-up using a fleegle heel. That means no waste yarn, no wrapping, and no picking up stitches. Additionally, if you prefer DPNs, the pattern can be worked on those, as well. The lace pattern is meditative, quick, and easy to memorize.
This pattern can easily be worked with any type of heel, and a normal ribbed cuff if the ruffles aren’t quite your thing! The size small takes around 50g of yarn, so it can easily be made with a single small skein of yarn.
