Is This Job Real?
Free tool: check a job posting, a recruiter, or an email before you give anyone your information.
In a March 2026 Resume Genius survey of 1,000 U.S. job seekers, 67% said they'd suspected a job posting of being fake or misleading. This tool gives Claude or ChatGPT a prompt that checks three things and tells the AI to link every finding.
WHAT YOU GET
- The posting: seven checks, from the company's own careers page to what you've been asked to send, each marked PASS, WARN, FAIL or COULD NOT CHECK
- The recruiter: looked up by name, with every finding linked
- The email: the address, the sending domain, look-alike domains, the Reply-To, where the links go, and the security results in the headers
- A plain verdict on the posting and on the email, one line on why it got that rating, and next steps for each
- A short reply you can send that asks for the job number, the pay and the pay schedule in writing
HOW IT WORKS
1. Open the file in any browser. Nothing to install, no login. Follow the three steps on the page.
2. Pick a tab: the job posting, the recruiter, or the email. Fill in what you have.
3. Click Copy My Prompt, then Open Claude.ai or Open ChatGPT. Start a new chat, paste, and send. The tool tells the AI to link every finding, so you can read the same page it read.
The tool tells the AI never to call a company safe. The most it can say is that it found nothing wrong today. The links are there, and the call is yours.
Your information stays in your browser. You paste the prompt into the AI yourself.
Works with the free versions of Claude and ChatGPT. Run out of free messages on one? Paste the same prompt into the other and keep going.
