Many people know this constellation being as part of the Big Dipper. Tears flow into a ladle which so many people identify without knowing the wholeness of the rest of the constellation. It is so much as we look but do not see - there is a recognition of something, but a neglecting to see the entire picture. The physical eyes are blind, and you must learn to widen your vision beyond what is physical to what is spiritual. Look beyond the “boundaries” that do not exist, for there are no boundaries within the sky. Even in wholeness unseen, Ursa Major looks on with the compassion of a mother, still giving healing energy to humanity despite the lack of recognition. A mother’s love is selfless, after all.
As this star being presented herself to me, I saw her as more than what humans see as a simple bear; great horns sprouted from her head like Pan; clothed and sprouted in dazzling webs of stardust. She bore a crown of stars and webbed nebulae. And she sat down to drink in the dark night sky, the water from her lips and tears streaming down to humanity. I sent a grateful air kiss her way, thanking her for her eternal love and selflessness.
