Pont du Gard – Roman Aqueduct Paper Model Kit
Make a little bridge with a big Roman story. Build a three-tier Pont du Gard model with open arches on the lower two levels, a printed upper arcade and an illustrated river-valley display board.
The 28-page A4 kit includes 14 numbered pieces across six template sheets, one landscape display board, 12 illustrated assembly steps, three join close-ups, 16 history facts, a six-part timeline, a water-route diagram, gradient maths, a folded-paper experiment, six detective quests, answers, a glossary and linked historical references.
The finished bridge is approximately 24.4 cm long and 10.2 cm high. Print the six template sheets and board at 100% on 160-200 gsm matte card. You will need scissors, a ruler, a blunt scorer and PVA glue; tweezers are optional. Ages 12+ with adult help. Difficulty 3/5; allow an estimated 2-4 hours plus drying.
This is a simplified architectural model. Lower and middle arch openings are cut from the bottom edge; the 35 tiny upper arches are printed. Proportions and spacing are adjusted, the water-route stripe is level, folded scenery banks support the middle tier and the later road bridge is omitted. Images show digital model illustrations. Digitally checked; physical assembly and independent novice testing remain outstanding.
