Kopi luwak is a special and unique type of coffee from Indonesia, produced from coffee beans that have been consumed and passed through the digestive tract of the Asian palm civet (*Paradoxurus hermaphroditus*).

This MB luwak coffee uses Arabica coffee, which is grown on Mount Gede Pangrango, Cianjur, west java Indonesia

Unique Production

Process Bean Selection: The civet naturally selects and consumes only the ripest, highest-quality coffee cherries.

Natural Fermentation: Inside the civet's digestive tract, enzymes ferment the coffee beans. The fruit pulp is digested, while the hard beans (encased in parchment) remain undigested and are excreted whole in the droppings.

Processing: The beans collected from the droppings are thoroughly cleaned and washed, roasted at high temperatures to ensure hygiene, and ground into ready-to-brew powder.

Flavor Characteristics

Low Acidity: Kopi Luwak is renowned for its very low acidity, making it gentle on the stomachs of those sensitive to acid.

Complex Flavor: It possesses a distinctive, robust aroma, accompanied by notes of caramel, chocolate, or subtle herbal (earthy) undertones.

Smooth Texture: The brewed coffee feels exceptionally smooth and clean on the palate, offering a long-lasting aftertaste.

Why Is It So Expensive?

Scarcity: Production of *kopi luwak* is extremely limited because it relies on a natural selection process carried out by the civet.

Labor-Intensive Process: Collecting, sorting, and cleaning the beans requires meticulous manual labor and a significant amount of time.

Global Prestige: It is renowned as one of the most expensive and sought-after coffees among enthusiasts worldwide
