The Kingdom of Bears and Ash

Not a bear-viewing vacation- entry into a living ecosystem. Reached only by bush and float plane, this is wilderness operating without permission: brown bears fishing the salmon-choked Brooks River, the ash-and-silence aftermath of the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes, and the soft, spacious quiet of Lake Clark. It moves from raw intensity to deep stillness, and asks one thing of you- to sit inside wildness long enough for it to unfold on its own terms.
