Afro Deco Cowl

About the Pattern:

The cowl is constructed as a tube that is provisionally cast on and then the ends are grafted together. The colorwork design is inspired by the Art Deco style with some African influence. With some engaging colorwork and a great color palette, this cowl is a joy to knit.

Finished Dimensions (width x length): 9in x 15.75in/23cm x 40cm

Yarn:

Reminisce/Recollect by Farmers Daughter Fibers, 100% Non-Superwash MT & WY Rambouillet 185yds/170m in 2oz/57g

Dyed in the Wool by Spincycle Yarns, 100% Superwash American Wool, 200yds/183m in 2oz/57g

For the brown cowl you will need, 278yds/254m Reminisce in the main color (pictured in sample as Madmartigan), 150yds of Reminisce in contrast color 1 (pictured in sample as Daddy State of Mind), and 190yds of Dyed in the Wool (pictured in sample as Chin Up!).

For the gray cowl you will need, 278yds/254m Reminisce in the main color (pictured in sample as Ranch Romance), 150yds of Recollect in contrast color 1 (pictured in sample as Paul Newman), and 190yds of Dyed in the Wool (pictured in sample as Chin Up!).

Needles:

US size 4 (3.50mm) 16” (40cm) circular needle

Gauge:

24sts x 20rnds in colorwork pattern in the round after blocking = 4” x 4” (10cmx10cm) with US size 4 (3.50mm)
