VA Claim Strategy Dashboard is a simple, step-by-step tool built to help veterans prepare for a productive meeting with their VSO or accredited representative or simply go into the claims process alone with a well thought out strategy. The VA claims process can feel confusing, especially when you’re not sure what evidence you need or which conditions you should file. This dashboard breaks everything down into clear phases, helping you understand your situation, organize your information, and walk into your VSO meeting fully prepared.

The dashboard guides you through every part of the disability claim process:

Phase I — Direct, Presumptive, and Increases

Identify your primary conditions and ones that were never claimed, determine whether they may be directly connected or presumptive, and review whether you might qualify for an increased rating.

Phase II — Secondary Conditions

Document conditions that may be caused or aggravated by your service-connected disabilities. This section helps you understand possible secondary links and what evidence you may need.

Phase III — Appeals

If you’ve been denied or received a rating you disagree with, this phase helps you organize errors, missing evidence, and the information needed for a Higher-Level Review or Supplemental Claim.

By completing the self-assessment sections and following the instructions, you’ll have a clear understanding of your potential claims, missing evidence, and next steps. When finished, you can print your dashboard and bring it to your VSO, allowing them to assist you more efficiently and effectively.

To fully use and edit your VA Claim Strategy Dashboard, you must install the Google Sheets app on your device. You will get prompted to "make a copy" and to download the app if you don't already have it.

Disclaimer

This product is for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for a VSO, accredited agent, or attorney. Veterans who are considering an Independent Medical Opinion (IMO) or nexus letter should use caution—many providers charge for these services. Always do your own due diligence when selecting a doctor. You may explore the Nexus Letter Doctor Directory as a starting point.

This dashboard is designed to make conversations with your VSO easier and more productive, but you are welcome to use it on your own to better understand and organize your VA disability claim.
