Dark Lies the Shadow

Peggy Hall was a native American Cherokee Indian. She wrote Dark Lies the Shadow to tell the history of the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma. She chose to tell her story from the viewpoint of a young, Cherokee maiden, who came to Oklahoma to marry the love of her life during the most traumatic time period in the history of America's largest Indian tribe.
