During the Lunar New Year, lion dances and colorful performances are very frequent. Besides large-scale entertainment programs, many homes, shops, and businesses invite local lion dance troupes to perform at their homes or businesses, hoping to bring good fortune to their families through the aura of the lion dance and boost business by attracting crowds. Some art enthusiasts also visit local performing arts centers to watch another type of lion dance performance, "Lion Leaps to Welcome the New Year."
