Classic Wool Scarf is a casual scarf woven on a rigid heddle loom in plain (tabby) weave. The interaction of variegated warp and solid weft generates visual interest to balance the simplicity of the weave structure. The ends of the scarf are finished with hemstitching and knotted fringes.
This pattern is written for direct warping and weaving on a rigid heddle loom with a 15-inch weaving width. The project requires 194 yards of worsted weight yarn in a variegated color for the warp and 194 yards of worsted weight yarn in a solid color for the weft. Sample scarves are woven in Patons Classic Wool Worsted. The finished scarf measures approximately 9 inches in width and 65 inches in length.
