The Misunderstanding

She shared a dream she didn’t understand. A stranger told the world what it meant.

Marianne Cole posts about an unusual dream, describing a crowded church hall, an angry woman, and the comforting sensation of being held by God. She admits she cannot explain every detail.

An online commentator removes that uncertainty from his screenshot—and presents the dream as evidence of racial hatred.

Accusations spread. Strangers demand consequences. Marianne’s attempts to explain herself struggle to reach the people who have already accepted someone else’s version.

As the controversy threatens her work and peace of mind, she faces a difficult challenge: listening honestly to concerns about the imagery while refusing to accept intentions she never held.

The Misunderstanding by Mia Bills is thought-provoking Christian fiction about online outrage, racial perceptions, faith, and the difference between genuine accountability and deliberate misrepresentation.

Can Marianne learn from criticism without letting a false accusation define her?
