In 1932, Rockport's barber was murdered in the middle of the day on a Saturday. The murder remained unsolved even in 1933. Augusta Johnson my grandmother's uncle's second wife threatened to reveal who the killer was. She mentioned it in church one Sunday in November. Most likely, the killer already found out about her plans and he murdered her during the night. Augusta lived in Rockport not far from Boston and secluded in Pidgeon Cove. Augusta was found almost naked and tied to her iron bed and the killer had set fire to the corpse and the bed. Half the body was badly burned. The murder was never solved.
