ذات يوم، وبينما كنت عائداً إلى منزلي، اقترب مني جاري الصغير وسألني سؤالاً لامس شغاف قلبي؛ فقد أراد أن يعرف ما إذا كانت لدي أي حكمة حياتية يمكن أن تثري حياته

وتساعده في رسم مسار مستقبله! لقد تأثرت كثيراً بذلك الموقف؛ ففي مثل سنه، لم تكن اهتماماتي تتجاوز التفكير في كيفية إقناع والديّ بشراء كرة قدم جديدة، أو الحرص على عدم تفويت الحلقة القادمة من مسلسل "توم وجيري". فكرتُ ملياً في الأمر، ثم شاركته شعاري في الحياة ودوّنته له. وبعد ذلك، سألني إن كان لدي أصدقاء يمكنهم أيضاً مشاركته مبادئهم التوجيهية في الحياة. فأجبته بالإيجاب، وأخبرته -كما يعلم هو- أنني أعمل لدى شركة "لوفتهانزا" في مطار ميونيخ، ولديّ العديد من الأصدقاء الأعزاء والزملاء الطيبين. ووعدته بأنني سأطرح الأمر على الكثير منهم. لقد أبدى كل من تواصلت معهم حماساً كبيراً تجاه طلب "إيوان"، وتحولت هذه المبادرة الرائعة إلى الهدية التي تراها أمامك الآن؛ فقد سُرّ جميع من تحدثت إليهم بمشاركة حكمتهم الحياتية مع "إيوان". أتوجه بخالص الشكر والامتنان لكل من ساعدني في إنجاز هذه الهدية القيمة. صديقي الصغير العزيز "إيوان"، أتمنى لك -في رحلة حياتك- أن تتمكن من تطبيق والاستفادة من العديد من هذه الدروس الحياتية القيمة. لك مني كل الحب والتقدير. المخلص، سام.

One day, I came home, and my young neighbor came up to me and asked me something that touched my heart. He asked if I had any life wisdom that could enrich his life and help him navigate his future! I was very moved. At his age, I only thought about how I could get my parents to buy me a new football and make sure I didn’t miss the next episode of Tom & Jerry. I thought long and hard, and then I shared my life motto with him and wrote it down. Afterward, he asked if I had friends who could also share their guiding principles with him. Yes, I answered, telling him that as he knows, I work for Lufthansa at Munich Airport, so I have many dear friends and good colleagues. I promised him that I would ask many of them. Everyone I approached was thrilled by Ewan’s request. This wonderful action turned into the present you see here. All those I spoke to were happy to share their life wisdom with Ewan. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who, together with me, helped make this valuable gift possible.
