Sun, Moon the One
I am an Aries who has, on more than one occasion, run a birth chart before agreeing to a
second date.
I am not apologising for this. The chart is useful. The chart gives you a language for things
that are otherwise hard to name — why someone’s emotional style feels compatible with
yours, why you and another person keep running into the same friction, why the way
someone loves maps onto something you recognise.
But Priya is right. The chart is a starting point, not a verdict. And the most interesting
thing about every person you will ever meet is the part that the chart cannot hold: the
specific, particular, irreplaceable thing that is just them.
Nadia’s spreadsheet made me laugh because I understood it completely. Her fourteen
rows in the Things the Chart Doesn’t Cover column made me cry a little, which I am also
not apologising for.
Marco is a Gemini. The Geminis in my life are some of the most deeply feeling, most loyal,
most genuinely present people I know. The sun sign is the surface. Always go deeper.
And if you are out there with a colour-coded spreadsheet and a succulent named Gerald:
I see you. The system is not the problem. The system is the Virgo in you, trying to protect
the Cancer in you, from the Leo in you who wants things so much it frightens her
sometimes.
Close the spreadsheet. Order the oat latte. Go to the reservoir on Sunday.
Let Gerald lean.
With love, bad Mercury transits, and an archived spreadsheet,
