Most handmade sellers price by guessing, or by copying the shop next door. Then Etsy's fees, shipping labels and a 20%-off sale quietly eat the profit, and your own hours earn nothing.

This spreadsheet does the maths for you in Excel or Google Sheets. There are no macros and no subscription.

HOW IT WORKS

1) Materials: type what you pay for a pack and how many units are in it. The cost per unit calculates automatically, and prices you haven't checked in 180 days turn amber.

2) Product Builder + Recipe: pick materials from a dropdown, then add your labor minutes, packaging, overhead and batch setup time. This gives a true cost per item.

3) Price Calculator: shows break-even, the price for your target margin after every Etsy fee, and a rounded suggested price (none, .99 or whole number). It also shows profit, margin and profit per labor hour, with a clear check: BELOW COST (red), thin margin (amber) or OK.

WHAT'S INSIDE

• Etsy fees built in: 6.5% transaction fee (on item + shipping), payment processing by seller country, listing fee and Offsite Ads (15% or 12%, capped at $100 per order)

• Pick your seller country (18 presets) and the processing fee fills in automatically, together with Etsy's Regulatory Operating Fee for the 9 countries that charge it (UK, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, Hungary, India, Türkiye, Vietnam)

• VAT on Etsy fees for UK/EU sellers; any currency

• Sale Tester: profit at 10-40% off and the deepest discount you can afford

• Channel Compare: the same product on Etsy, Etsy + Offsite Ads, Shopify, your own site, a craft fair (card or cash), Amazon Handmade and wholesale, plus 2 custom channels

• Batch Pricing: cost per item at 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 per batch

• Dashboard: products below cost, thin margins, best profit per hour, and a profit chart

• BLANK file + a filled EXAMPLE (a fictional embroidery shop, 9 products) + a 1-page Quick-Start PDF

EXAMPLE (fictional shop)

A linen tote bag costs $20.84 to make, including 30 minutes of labor at $20/h. At $28 + $6 shipping, Etsy fees are $3.68 and the profit is $3.68 (10.8%). For a 35% margin the calculator suggests $42.99, which leaves $17.24 profit. A 20%-off sale at $28 would lose $1.39 per order.
