The Henna Pricing Calculator Pack
Eight calculators for pricing henna tattoos, henna designs and bridal henna from your own year, your own minutes and your own paste, not from anyone's price list.
Sheet 1 turns the income you want, your costs, cancels, driving and admin into an hourly floor: $69.44 per paid hour in the illustrative example. Sheet 2 costs a usable cone, mixing time and spoiled cones included, and sheet 3 prices a design by its minutes and paste. Sheet 4 prices a bridal package with trial, travel and deposit, sheet 5 prices an event per guest, and sheet 6 finds the designs that cover a market stall. Sheet 7 asks whether the henna business is profitable across a year of your own bookings, and sheet 8 checks whether a finished booking paid.
Every figure is an example for you to overwrite. These are estimates, not tax or legal advice; mix, store and use paste as your supplier's label directs. Every formula was recalculated and checked against an independent implementation before this shipped.
What is in it
8 calculators, one per sheet. Overwrite the blue cells with your own numbers and everything else follows — nothing is locked, there are no macros, and it opens in Excel, Numbers, LibreOffice and Google Sheets.
- Hourly floor rate — What must an hour of applying henna earn to pay you and the business?
- Cone batch cost — What does one usable cone cost once mixing time and spoiled cones are counted?
- Price per design — What must a henna design cost, from your minutes and the paste it uses?
- Bridal package — What should a bridal booking cost with the trial, travel, paste and a deposit?
- Event per-guest booking — At a party or event, what must each guest cost, and how many guests cover the booking?
- Market stall break-even — At a market stall, how many designs cover the stall fee and pay your floor?
- Is the year profitable — Across a year of bridal, event and market bookings, what is left, and is it enough?
- Did this booking pay — Once the booking is done, did it pay your floor?
Every formula was checked
This pack contains 76 formulas. Before it was published, every one of them was recalculated by a spreadsheet engine and compared against an independent implementation of the same arithmetic written in Python. All 76 agreed to within a cent, and the workbook carries a Verification sheet saying so.
That is an unusual thing to be able to claim about a spreadsheet, and it is the main reason to buy this one rather than download a free template. A formula that looks right and is wrong is worse than no formula at all, because you will act on it.
What each calculator assumes
There is a sheet listing this, because a calculator that hides its assumptions is just a number generator:
- Every working week looks the same. A cancelled slot is time you are at work and unpaid. Time spent mixing cones is charged on sheet 2. The tax set-aside is a share you enter, not a computed tax.
- Every cone in a batch is the same size. Spoiled cones are counted from your own records and charged to the usable ones. Mix, store and use paste as your supplier's label directs; the sheet only counts cost.
- Every design of this size takes the minutes and paste entered, back to back. Gaps between clients are not charged here: count them in the lost-hours share or the unpaid hours on sheet 1 so the floor carries them.
- Coverage hours are your own timing for the design the bride chose. The deposit is your policy; whether it is refundable is between you and the client. Margin is profit as a share of the price.
- Every guest gets the same small design. Setup and driving are paid at your floor. If fewer guests sit down than you booked for, a minimum guest count in your booking terms is what covers the gap.
- Every design is sold at the one price entered and uses the paste per design from sheet 5. Open hours and setup are paid at your floor. Any free demo designs take paste and chair time, so count them out of the busy share and add their paste to other supplies.
- Each kind of booking repeats at the price, costs and hours carried from its sheet. Bridal and event hours include the driving from sheets 4 and 5; market hours are open hours and setup only, so add your driving there if you want it counted. Cone mixing time is inside the cone cost. Whether the business is profitable for you is what this sheet shows from your own plan; it says nothing about anyone else's.
- Business costs and unpaid hours are already inside the floor from sheet 1, so this sheet subtracts only the costs that came with the booking. Tips are left out.
What this is not
Not financial, tax or legal advice, and not a recommendation to buy, sell, borrow or sign anything. These are calculators: they show what a choice costs, not which choice is right for you. Where a published rate or threshold is used it is the one current when the pack was built — those change, the arithmetic does not.
Honest about the format
One .xlsx workbook, 8 calculator sheets plus Start Here, Assumptions and Verification. Not a PDF, not a physical product, not a Notion template. Available immediately after purchase; nothing ships.
Refunds
If this isn't what you expected, email me within 30 days and I'll refund you in full — no need to explain. Because it's an instant download I can't take the file back, so I'd rather you just had your money back.
