πΊοΈ Curriculum Breakdown
This collection focuses deeply on mastering Measuring Length, Mass, Capacity, Time and Money through a carefully curated system:
Length: the ruler, and the units either side of it (5 Sub-levels): The first instrument a child reads, and the only one whose units they can see all three of at once - millimetres, centimetres and metres are all on the same scale.
All five at once (1 Sub-level): Word problems whose two numbers are in different units. The conversion is the problem; the arithmetic underneath it was finished in M3.
Length: the ruler, and the units either side of it (1 Sub-level): The first instrument a child reads, and the only one whose units they can see all three of at once - millimetres, centimetres and metres are all on the same scale.
Mass: the dial, and the thousand in a kilogram (3 Sub-levels): A dial is a ruler bent into a circle, with one extra difficulty: the gaps are not marked, so what one of them is worth has to be worked out before anything can be read.
All five at once (1 Sub-level): Word problems whose two numbers are in different units. The conversion is the problem; the arithmetic underneath it was finished in M3.
Capacity: the jug (3 Sub-levels): The same reading again, with only every second line labelled. Three strands, three instruments, one method.
Time, which is the one that is not base ten (6 Sub-levels): Two hands, sixty minutes and twelve hours. Everything a child has learnt about place value stops working here, which is exactly why it comes after the units that obey it.
Money, which is a decimal that always shows two places (4 Sub-levels): Dollars and cents are a hundredth apart, so a price is a two-place decimal - and a money sum is the column from M3 with the points lined up.
All five at once (1 Sub-level): Word problems whose two numbers are in different units. The conversion is the problem; the arithmetic underneath it was finished in M3.

π How To Use This Workbook
Print the workbook, read each rung's method page, and let your child work inside the printed frame. Then check the answers your way: in the printable answer-key PDF included in this download, or online, one page at a time, with the order ID on your Payhip receipt (valid for six months). Please keep the answer key for the adult marking the work and do not share it with your child: the workbook only works if they have worked each answer out for themselves.
