Free AI Cover Letter Generator — Google Sheets + Your API Key

Create tailored cover letters in Google Sheets using your own AI API key.

This free Google Sheets + Google Docs workflow turns your resume and a job description into a personalized, ready-to-edit cover letter in just a few clicks. You connect your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or Google Gemini, choose the tone and length, and generate a polished Google Doc automatically.

Please note: This is not a standalone AI subscription or web app. You need a Google account and your own API key from a supported AI provider. The API key is not included, and your chosen provider may charge separately for AI usage.

You can choose between OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini, select the tone and length of your letter, and generate a polished Google Doc automatically.

The system uses your actual resume and the specific job description to create a more relevant, job-specific cover letter. It is also designed to avoid inventing experience, skills, achievements, or qualifications that are not supported by your resume.

Your generated letters are saved automatically, so you can easily track previous applications and open each document directly from the spreadsheet.
