Chosen Ones, created by John Robert Beck in 2007, is a richly layered floral abstract inspired by the artist’s visit to the orchid section of the Chicago Botanical Gardens in Lincoln Park. The artwork blends bold red tropical flowers with soft, luminous orchid forms, set within a dynamic field of swirling lines, textures, and subtle architectural patterns.

The composition moves between realism and abstraction, where delicate petals and organic shapes interact with flowing energy lines and layered visual depth. The orchids appear almost suspended within the composition, while the surrounding elements suggest motion, growth, and transformation. The piece captures both the serenity of a botanical garden and the vibrant intensity of nature’s design, presenting a dreamlike interpretation of floral beauty.
