Y’Naare was born from a challenge: how to simplify the Echo Knitting technique and make it flow more intuitively.

Working in the round turned out to be the key, transforming a two-color rhythm that can feel chaotic into something almost meditative.

Y’Naare is worked as a big swatch in the round and features an intricate design of mini cables, with a clean border made of vertical lines interrupted by simple diamonds.

Somewhere along the way, this shawl took on a life of its own and became Y’Naare, a curious, determined, and indipendent princess.

The result is a shawl with strong contrast, quiet repetition, and a construction that invites you to enjoy the process from the very first stitch.

Y’Naare is worked bottom-up and in the round, starting from a small cast-on at the bottom tip and growing into a wide triangular shape, increasing two sts every other row.

The shawl is a triangle constructed as a large circular swatch, with the two “sides” connected only by a fringe, a strand of yarn carried between edges, later cut and trimmed.

Y’Naare is fully written and charted: every row documented, every star mapped. No matter how you navigate, the path is clear.

Bebella Yarn Pura lana basolan (100% Wool; 400 m437.5 yards/100 gr).

C1: col. Lollipop, approx 400 m/437.5 yards.

Suggested needle size: 3.25 mm /US 3.

Gauge

20 stitches and 46 rows = 10x10 cm (4”) in “Echo knitting” garter stitch (see page 9) worked in the round, measured after blocking.

Note: Gauge is not critical for this project but may affect yardage and final measurements
