Fresh Banana
Making fresh banana ice cream has been on my mind since my partner told me about the first time she had some. It was in Youngstown, Ohio, at the original Handel’s Ice Cream, during a blizzard no less! When she saw a line down the block of people waiting to get ice cream from an exterior window in the middle of a major snow storm, she knew the chilly wait would be worth it. And it was! The way she described its intense fresh (not fake) banana flavor, I knew I had to try my hand at creating some. Below is my version. The final product is an ultra creamy, intensely banana ice cream with an incredible texture and mouthfeel. It’s a delightful treat on its own or paired with a scoop of my chocolate ice cream and topped with salted peanuts.
