In the first video guide we explore the wonderful Rockies scenery of the Banff National Park. We ride on the gondola to Sulphur Mountain for views of the Rockies surrounding the Bow valley. A hike up Johnson Canyon is rewarding for its spectacular waterfalls and glimpses of wildlife.
In the second video we journey by colourful lakes, mountains and glaciers on the Icefields Parkway between Morraine Lake and Jasper. We follow a trail by the famous Lake Louise for views of Victoria glacier and visit the well-known Fairmont hotel.
Continuing northwards along the parkway the scenery continues to overwhelm the senses, as we reach the reach the Jasper National park at the Saskatchewan river crossing.
From here we start to climb into the mountains of the Columbia icefield. This icefield is the largest sub-polar sheet of ice and snow in North America covering 125 square miles. From the Icefields Centre there is a magnificent panorama of the three main glaciers flowing down from the icefield. A highlight is a snowmobile ride to the centre of the Athabasca glacier.
