A print-ready wallet card (85 x 55 mm) for gluten-free travelers in Japan. The card is two pages: Japanese on the front, English on the back. It says you cannot eat wheat, barley or rye, and flags where gluten often hides in Japan: soy sauce is usually brewed with wheat, some miso uses barley or wheat, soba noodles are usually bound with wheat flour, tempura batter is usually wheat flour, and curry roux usually contains wheat flour. Print pages 1 and 2 at 100% scale (each is exactly 85 x 55 mm) and cut them out - or just show the card on your phone. Page 3 is a full A4 notes sheet: how to read a Japanese label (allergen labels must flag wheat, but barley and rye are not required to appear - read the full ingredient list), why tamari is not a guaranteed swap (it may still contain wheat - check the bottle), and the exact source links for every claim (Consumer Affairs Agency, Kikkoman, Hikari Miso, S&B Foods, House Foods, Japan Soba Preservation Society - checked October 2026). The card is a communication aid, not medical advice; cross-contact is possible. Published by JK, who lives in Osaka. One PDF.
