If you’re a part of Gen Z, like me, then you’re probably familiar with the idea of being canceled. No one is exempt from the hounding eyes of social media “justice” warriors, on the prowl for their next victim, anyone who might slip up and says anything culture currently deems to be “offensive.” It doesn’t matter if the words were acceptable last week, or if the beliefs were voiced decades ago. Anyone can be canceled and deplatformed at any time and for almost any reason, so long as it properly offends the masses (or at least those claiming to represent the masses).

In an age of canceling, it’s no wonder so many of us walk around on eggshells, afraid to voice our beliefs or opinions for fear of being the next victim.

But when we hit our pillows at night, we can’t escape the reality that we do have faults. We all have regrets, hidden parts of our past or present that we desperately hope no one will ever know exists. We hide behind facades of happiness and put-togetherness and pray that our shadows will never be pulled into the light for examination.

This question of canceling takes on a whole new level of seriousness when we consider a new angle: what about God?

Will God cancel me?

Far more important than whether we get canceled on social media is what happens to those who sin and fall short of the perfection that God requires. If there’s any canceling that we should worry about, it’s being canceled by a holy God who holds the power of life and death.

The good news is that there is an answer to all of these questions about canceling and eternal security, answers that could change the trajectory of the rest of your life. Two of the most important questions we can ever ask are, “Am I really saved?” and “How can I know I am saved?” Because regardless of whether you ever get canceled by the social media police, if your eternal destiny is secure in Christ, then you can withstand whatever storms this life brings your way - even being canceled by social media warriors, or even friends and family.

Come join me as we dive into Scripture to learn what it has to say about who God is, the origin of sin in the world, how we can know we're saved, and what to do when we doubt our salvation. And, in the bonus chapter at the end, we'll dive into how to respond to cancel culture as a Christian.

My prayer for you as you read this guide is that God will show you, through His Word, the beauty of salvation through Christ and the assurance that we can have of His great love and the salvation we have in Christ. Only when we truly understand the depths of our sin and the magnitude of God’s grace can we rightly understand the certainty we have in Christ!
