The Sutton shawl is inspired by a beautiful path in a Yorkshire garden. The path consists of a series of bricks placed in a herringbone pattern. The shawl pattern combines eyelets with garter stitch forming a series of linked diagonal lines, reminiscent of the off-set herringbone design of the path.

The stitch pattern is reversible, with subtle differences visible between stocking stitch sections on the right side of the knitting and the corresponding reverse stocking stitch areas on the reverse side.

The shawl is knitted as two long joined right-angled triangles. The first triangle is increased to the centre point and the second matching triangle is worked with corresponding decreases.

The beautiful yarn is Wensleydale Longwool DK and you will need 3 x 100g balls to knit this shawl.
