First Paragraph: "And so, private," she concluded, "if you don't wish to be let go with dishonor, I suggest you hand in your resignation by tomorrow morning." With that, her ladyship strode away, leaving Paul to struggle up off his knees and wonder what he was to do with his life now. At nineteen and a half years here he was, friendless, soon to be unemployed and without a home, and all by his own hand. Life was looking bleak.
