Street of Rogues

Street of Rogues is an autobiographical trilogy that begins in New York City, raises a child in California, then flees to the rainforests of Central America. Growing up in NYC during the years 1957 through 1972 was alternately happy, crappy, trippy, paranoid, and dangerous. Three of my closest friends went to jail (Rikers, Attica, and the Texas State Pen). Even though that time was intense, I wouldn’t change a thing. Okay maybe I would. The underlying theme is the sometimes desperate search for personal happiness. 

Living with a teenage daughter and a wife battling menopause wasn’t so easy either. Not known for making good decisions, I decided and convinced my wife that we should retire in Costa Rica on an income of $1,500 a month.

[Disclaimer: The stories herein are true and recorded as faithfully as memory permits, or in some cases as faithfully as they were related to me sometime after the fact. Regarding narrative wherein prosecution could be pursuant, it’s all fiction and lies. That was someone else. I made it up. I have an alibi. It wasn’t me.]
