Contentment Shawl

This pretty one-skein crescent-shaped shawl is worked from the bottom up with a pretty lace border reminiscent of the lace pattern of the Contentment Cowl. The stockinette stitch body is shaped with short rows and finishes with a lovely eyelet edge at the top of the shawl.

Yarn: 
Madelinetosh Tosh Sock (100% merino wool; 395 yd [361 m]/3.5 oz [100 g]). 1 skein. Shown in Oak.
Red Sock Blue Sock Comfort Sock; 420 yd [384 m]/4.06 oz [115]). 1 skein. Shown in Eggplant.

Needles: 
US size 6 [4.0 mm] 32” [80 cm] circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge.
US size 8 [5.0 mm] 32” [80 cm] circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge.
* Larger needle is used for casting on only. Shawl is worked flat, but circular needles are used to accommodate the large number of stitches.

Finished measurements: Approximately 16.5 inches (42 cm) wide at middle and 65 inches (165 cm) long, blocked.

Skills required: Knitting lace, working short rows, blocking lace. Stitches used: k, p, sl pwise wyif, k2tog, p2tog, SKP, ssk, yo.
