Last week I thought I'd feed the algorithm and throw something 1994 style together for an instagram reel with my Dads Atari 520st and my other hardware. It took about 30mins to put the idea together and do some edits of the footage and that thing really took off!

I guess there's a lot of us out here that are sentimental about these days. Maybe it was also due to seeing the Atari in action after being in storage for 30 years? I know there's a bunch of crew who started on this old gear and a lot of incredible tracks were created this way so mo doubt that helped strike a nerve..

Due to the interest in this track I made an effort to get it done and put it here here. I plan to revisit with a remix and if I can get some other producers interested I'll get a bunch of remixes done and we'll get it on wax for the vinyl heads!

Those of you who have been following me for some time will know I'm all about this stuff. I love the sound of these machines and I love the results it draws from me. Yes it can be fiddly, yes a DAW is way faster and more convenient. But, I just love working this way.

This version comes straight out of the back of the Mackie desk into the DAW and has been bought up to level with some limiting. No frills or fancy business, no surgical eq's. It's nice to have a version out this way that completely preserves the sound without too much processing.

I hope you like it crew!
