Juliette spent her whole life in Britain, except for a couple of years in Paris, France, and was fifty-five years old when she decided to move to Nepal. In this book she hopes to share with readers her multitudinous experiences, many of which are sure to raise an eyebrow, whilst others will bring a smile, or might even cause uproarious laughter.

She has enjoyed re-living her experiences and, having done so, hopes they will be enjoyed by others.

This book includes host of wonderful photos, bringing to life the many characters readers will meet along the way.

A taste of Chapter Two:

"MAKING A HOUSE OUR HOME

For six long years we had been building Peace Dragon Lodge, which has ten letting bedrooms, two large open-air restaurant floors and accommodation for ourselves on the first floor. Apart from enjoying a slightly better view from the first floor, the prime reason we could not be on the ground floor was because there are leopards in the area, which sounds quite exciting but in reality is a problem because one always has to keep the dogs secure. There are the rare clouded leopards, which are about the size of a German Shepherd Dog and the larger spotted ones. They don’t seem to harm people here, or at least everyone denies having known of any attacks, but dogs, chickens and goats are in great peril.

I have only seen two in the time I have lived here, both were clouded. On the first occasion, I was on the back of the motorbike as dusk was falling and I just thought there was a large dog crossing the dirt road in front of us until Dibya whispered “Leopard, leopard”. I had to move my brain up a gear to realise what I was seeing, then about six to eight feet in front of us it leapt down the steep bank at the side of the track and the thing that will forever remain in my memory is the wonderfully thick, metre long tail with stripes in black bands."
