Loved it!

Okay this audiobook was so good!!! I’m a sucker for an accent and as soon as I started listening I could not stop. I was obsessed with both narrators and their Australian accents. I loved the duet narrator and flew through this book. I also needed to know what secrets both characters were hiding. This was such a good book. I did feel bad about what happened at the race track.

Only the positive is beautifully written story about the unexpected and complicated.

Only the positive touches on some very deep subjects. There is a lot of guilt, anxiety, and trauma behind this story. I thought it was beautifully written and really well done.

Both voice actors did a wonderful job portraying these two characters and there were certainly some tough subjects they covered. They brought the perfect amount of emotion to both Low and Resse making it easy to be swept up in their story.

Resse and Low shine as the leads of the story taking on a lot of weight on some young shoulders. Their lack of maturity and ability to process such big events is part of what makes them so real and relatable.

This story was honest and heartfelt and had moments of joy and light to balance it all out. I really thought this was a fantastic story and can't believe it was Elle's first published work.

I look forward to the rest of the series and hopefully seeing the rest of the friends find what Low and Resse have.

Reece & Low!!

I thought the narrators did a great job with this book. The book is set in Australia and I enjoyed listening to this with Australian accents. These narrators really brought the angst and so many different emotions to these characters!

I don’t recall reading a romance quite like this one before. Reece and Low are both characters who are struggling with past trauma and they have this immediate chemistry and pull towards each other…and then one text message stops Low immediately.

Reece is understandably confused but they end up becoming friends and eventually Low tells her what has been going on with him. These characters and their reactions felt so authentic to me. They both have their own baggage and are dealing with grief and guilt but together they are really able to support one another.

This story isn’t all angst and emotions! There is also humor and love and friendship.
I really liked the side characters and am excited to read the rest of the books in the series!

I thoroughly enjoyed Reese’s and Low’s story! It was a fun, heartfelt, and heartbreaking listen that was portrayed through duet narration that was so good! Be prepared to deal with life changing circumstances. The tension was slow burn and nerve-wracking. Definitely recommend!

Elle brings Australian culture without making it cringe

I am obsessed with Elle Thorpe and her work within the saint view world, this is my first opportunity to try something different from that. I think this book was very good at being obviously Australian without making the mistakes other Aussies books have had to make it too much! The book did not suck me in as much as I would like and I felt the characters were a little more mature than what would be expected but I loved the overall theme of the book.

My own personal preferences mean I rated this book a lot lower than usual but only due to my dislike for slow burn. I struggled with the aussie accents too even being Australian but again that is my weird preferences. This book showed fresh perspective around a subject I have not had the chance to read about before and was also informative.
