Themis
Originally this set was called "Justice and Corruption" but I changed it to Themis because it seemed more fitting.
Themis is the ancient Greek Titaness and goddess of divine law, natural order, and justice, often depicted holding scales. As the personification of "right" and custom, she represents fairness, wisdom, and prophecy.
A few years ago a friend asked me to model for her photography homework, and as we were playing around with various elements, like the blindfold, the mannequin head, cigarettes, and the fake diamond...a question came up, we asked ourselves:
What If Justice was a modern person and she had fallen victim to addiction?
The result was a set of hauntingly beautiful portraits.
