Down the Ground - The Long Game
Down the Ground - The Long Game (Tabletop First-Class Cricket)
The multi-day game on your table. Declarations, the follow-on, a pitch that breaks up under your feet, and a last evening spent blocking for a draw that may not come.
The Long Game plays Down the Ground over the red-ball form. Same dice, same chart-reading, same team ratings. What changes is the shape: multi-days per game, no death overs - an innings ends all out or declared. The new ball bites, the tail folds, the weather can save a beaten side. A session takes minutes; a full match runs an evening.
What you get
- Book 1 - The Long Game - the full rules: sessions and days, pitch wear across five ground profiles (with more to come), weather conditions with lost time, the new ball, the tail, declarations and the follow-on, plus a Golden Age variant for cricket before the Great War, sticky dogs and all
- Book 2 - The County Circuit - eight fictional counties with home grounds, a full 14-round Championship season, the Stop Press news table, a county generator, three ways to rate real sides straight off a league table, and ten great sides of first-class history rated for play
- Four table sheets - a 95-over Day Tracker with per-session conditions strips, a one-page Match Tracker and scorecard with bonus points, a Season and Series sheet, and a landscape ten-team league Table
A complete standalone game - every rule and table the long game uses is in the box. It shares an engine with Down the Ground, so if you know the one-day game you already know how to play.
Pure print and play - two dice, the books and a pencil. No app needed
