What makes the explanations different

Every explanation in the book does four things: why the right answer is right, traced to the part of the outline it came from; why each wrong option was tempting, naming the misconception behind it; the detail in the question that rules that option out; and the one line that separates the right answer from the closest wrong answer. So you learn more than which answer was right. You learn why the other answer looked right, and how to tell the two apart next time.

How the numbers fit together

The app holds 1,053 questions. The book prints 300 of them; the other 753 are app-only. So the bundle is 1,053 questions in total, not 1,053 on top of the book. The book's two practice exams (120 questions each) come from the book's 300; the app's six mocks (200 questions each) draw on the full 1,053.

The real CMA (AAMA) exam has 200 questions in 160 minutes, of which 180 are scored and 20 are unscored pretest questions. The app's mocks give you 200 questions in 160 minutes, all of them scored, so the pace per question is the real exam's.
