No 1 Skeete Road
In it a 28 row repeating pattern produces pentagon shaped lacy motifs whilst the wings of the piece are worked in a simple 2 row stitch that produces contrasting columns of lace on either side. Pointed edges give this design a fun feminine finish and as you can see when blocking it’s worth taking a bit of time to accentuate each of these points with pins.
This shawl is a simple triangle shape but generously sized with vertical lines of a teardrop shaped lace motif travelling down its length. Knitted from the bottom up you’ll need to transfer from single point needles to circular needles in order to accommodate the full width as the work grows.
130 cm wide x 54 cm long (51in wide x 21¼ in long) after blocking
Originally knitted in John Arbon Alpaca Delight it will work well in any fingering weight yarn and takes just 425 m (464yds) so it’s a great stash buster project.
