Dr. Pavel Pichardo Rojas is a current postdoctoral research fellow in neurosurgery at UTHealth Houston. He is the author of over 30 peer-reviewed publications, including 12 as first author and 2 as independent author. He serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for more than 20 scientific journals, including the Journal of Neuro-Oncology and Neurosurgical Review.
He is also the founder of the Latin American Neurosurgical Collaborative for Excellence in Research (LANCE) and a recipient of the 2023 AANS/CNS Tumor Section Neuro-Oncology Trainee Award.

Dr. Stefan Helms is an experienced Internal Medicine specialist based in Boston, with a strong background in both academic and clinical settings. Passionate about medical education, he has mentored over 1,000 international physicians, helping them improve patient-centered communication, clinical presentation skills, and navigate the USMLE process.
He is the Co-Founder of Scrubs Community and Creator of "Inglés Médico en la Práctica", a course designed to help Spanish-speaking doctors and medical students confidently communicate in English-speaking clinical environments. Dr. Helms is dedicated to empowering international medical professionals to master medical English and succeed in U.S. clinical settings.

Dr. Carla Ortega was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela. She completed medical school at La Universidad del Zulia and went on to train in Internal Medicine at the University of Miami / JFK Palm Beach Consortium. She now practices in Florida.
With a strong foundation built through years of hands-on experience in Latin America, Dr. Ortega brings a unique and relatable perspective to international medical graduates navigating the U.S. healthcare system.
During her own transition, she faced the challenge of adapting to a new language, a different culture, and a fast-paced clinical environment. With the help of mentorship and perseverance, she mastered medical English and became a successful resident and practicing physician in the U.S.
