- A house — one or two storeys, on a slab, a crawl space or a full basement - A wood frame apartment, with or without underground parking - A steel structure office building - A tilt-up warehouse - A concrete tower, anywhere from one storey to sixty Change the storey count and the whole building regenerates — the structure cycle, the vertical trades, the lift, the crane, the finishing on every floor. A 24-storey tower comes out at over a thousand tasks. HOW IT WORKS Every task has a duration and a predecessor. From that it runs a critical path calculation, forward and backward — the same arithmetic Microsoft Project runs — counting working hours rather than working days, so a half-day Saturday is a shorter window instead of a special case. Nothing is drawn by hand. Change one task and everything tied to it moves with it, right through to occupancy. THE PART THAT MAKES IT YOURS The sequencing rules are judgement calls, not facts about concrete, so they're yours to set: floor-to-floor cycle, when curbs start after a pour, how long the crane stays after the last structural lift, when there's enough rail for the temporary construction car. Set the cycle your trades actually hold and the whole building moves with it. WORKING THE SCHEDULE Everything a Project user looks for, on the ribbon where he expects it: insert task, summary and milestone; indent and outdent; link and unlink, or type predecessors directly (24, 24+3d, 24-2d); task information with duration, dates, constraints and notes; manual or automatic scheduling per task; progress and inactivate; critical path with a slack threshold; multiple critical paths; task path highlighting; detail by section or by level; timescale from days to quarters. ISSUING IT TO THE TRADES Press Set Baseline when you issue, and the days-lost reading means slip since last issue rather than a total that only grows. Issue Copy writes a separate view-only file — that file is what the trades get. The dates on it are text. There is nothing to click but Print, and Print is where their PDF comes from. Across the top, the completion date and the days lost against the baseline. At the bottom, every delay that added time of its own, with the reason typed beside it. A sub cannot change a date on it. That is the point of it.
