1 on 1 Portfolio Review
PORTFOLIO REVIEW with HITCH
Submit up to 15 of your best digital images.
We'll meet live, one-on-one over Google Meet for a 60-minute portfolio review.
The first thing we do isn't critique.
It's edit.
We'll start with your fifteen images and narrow them to a portfolio of up to ten. You'll leave knowing not only which photographs belong, but exactly why the others don't.
That first cut is often the most valuable part of the session.
Most photographers can eventually learn why a photograph works. Very few can objectively decide which images weaken their own portfolio. We're emotionally attached to the story behind the photograph. A strong portfolio isn't built by adding more good images. It's built by removing the ones that don't belong.
After we've made the cut, we'll spend the rest of the session diving deep into the images that remain.
This isn't a feel-good review.
I'm not going to tell you every photograph is brilliant, and you probably already know that or you wouldn't be booking this.
What you'll get instead is an honest assessment of what's working, what's holding your work back, and concrete direction for improving it.
You'll leave with a tighter portfolio, a clearer understanding of your strengths, and a roadmap for what to work on next.
If you want your ego stroked, book someone else.
If you want to become a better photographer, book this.
What we actually talk about
Every image is evaluated through the CORE framework.
Not opinions.
Not "I like this one."
Decisions.
COMPOSITION
How the frame is organized.
Why every element belongs where it does, and just as importantly, what shouldn't be there.
OBSERVATION
Reading the light, anticipating the moment, and recognizing the photograph before you press the shutter.
REFINEMENT
The decisions you made before the exposure.
Camera position. Lens choice. Light. Timing. Subject placement. What you changed, what you removed, and why.
EXECUTION
Creating the finished photograph.
Exposure, focus, editing, processing, and every technical decision that carries your intent from capture to the final image.
Every conversation comes back to these four ideas because every photograph is built on them.
How it works
Purchase your review.
You'll receive a booking link to choose a time that works for both of us.
Email your 15 images at least 48 hours before the session so I have time to review them beforehand.
When we meet, we'll begin by narrowing those fifteen photographs into a portfolio of up to ten. Then we'll spend the remainder of the session analyzing each surviving image in depth.
Come with your real work.
Not your safest work.
The photographs you're uncertain about are usually the ones that teach you the most.
A portfolio of six exceptional photographs is stronger than a portfolio of ten where four don't belong. We'll identify the photographs that elevate your work and the ones that dilute it, and you'll understand exactly why.
60 minutes.
15 images.
One honest conversation.
And a better portfolio.
