This is the kind of pullover I go to when the evenings start to get cold, and I’m looking for a little extra comfort. Like when camping, or sitting around a backyard fire pit. The stranded colourwork adds a little bit of extra warmth to the bodice, with a shawl collar for some extra coziness. The mix of Nightshades and Shelter opens up a multitude of colour possibilities.

Camping Pullover is worked in the round from the bottom up. Steeking is used for the armholes and neckline so that the stranded colourwork can continue to be worked in the round throughout the yoke. Once the steeks are secured and cut, the sleeves are picked up from the armhole and worked down to the cuff, making adjustments easy. The collar is worked last by picking up stitches from the neckline. It is shaped with short rows so create the cozy folded shawl collar.

The stranded colourwork pattern used in this pullover has also been adapted for a lap blanket, the Camping Blanket.
