In the first lesson, we will dive into Scriabin’s composition structure and approach to motif development. You’ll learn how he form and motifs to create some of his most beloved works.

The second lesson will focus on Scriabin’s diverse use of harmony including his middle-era approach to harmony, his use of atonal harmony, and his ability to transpose musical material. You’ll discover how Scriabin was able to create such complex harmonies, and how you can incorporate these techniques into your own compositions.

In the third lesson, you will learn how to apply these techniques in both short and long duration pieces, and we’ll explore advanced techniques regarding texture. You’ll learn how to create the right mood, and how to use texture to create a sense of depth and complexity.

The fourth and final lesson will be a presentation of your own compositions, where you’ll receive feedback from your teacher and your fellow course members. This will be an opportunity to showcase your skills, and to receive constructive criticism that can help you grow as a composer.
