I designed Joey the Koala as a way of raising money to donate to the people and animals of Australia after seeing the devastation of the recent bush fires.
He is made with a wooden bead base and stitched in peyote stitch. As with my other designs in this style, each component is made separately and can be used in different ways. Make two heads for a pair of earrings or use one as a charm on a bracelet or handbag. Alternatively, he makes a lovely little desk companion or hanging ornament. I hope you like him, and I hope you will consider using this tutorial as a way of raising funds to donate too.
