Storm, a mixed-breed puppy who features in Break Down, book 1 in the Coogan's Break series, is as dark as night and built like a chaos engine in fur.

Her bloodline is a mystery, her paws are the size of dinner plates and, worryingly, the rest of her is working hard to catch up. It’s a hard-sell in anyone’s books, and so for her to meet Seth when least expected doesn't help.

Unannounced, uninvited, and skating across a marble bathroom floor at full speed during a storm, she didn’t care that he was buck naked. Technically, so was she.

She loves water, barks with her whole body, and is the last thing you’d look for in a service dog for a veteran who didn't know he needed one.

Storm didn't come with any formal pedigree. Rather, she came from the local shelter with a name she’d rather not talk about. She’s much happier responding to Storm.
