AGE OF SKORPA
Complete Game Rules
1. OBJECTIVE
In Age of Skorpa, players compete to build the strongest Hero by equipping powerful Gear, collecting their Hero's Favorite Set, and defeating three increasingly powerful Bosses.
The game ends immediately when the third Boss, the World Devourer, is defeated.
The player with the highest total Victory Points (VP) wins.
In case of a tie, the tied players share the victory.
2. GAME SETUP
Choose Your Hero
Each player chooses one Hero.
Each Hero has one Favorite Set:

Infernal
Mage
Frost
Necromancer
Bone
Druid
Royal
Shadow Hunter
Shadow
Starting Gold
Each player starts with exactly 1 Gold card.
Draw 1 card from the deck and place it face down in your personal Gold pile.
3. GOLD
There are no Gold tokens in Age of Skorpa.
Your Gold is represented entirely by the number of Gold cards in your face-down Gold pile.
Gold Rules
- 1 Gold card = 1 Gold.
- Every Gold card is worth exactly 1 Gold.
- Gold is used to:
- Pay for Equipment.
- Bid in auctions.
- Gold does not count toward your final VP score.
Your Gold cards remain face down. Players may count how much Gold they have when required.
4. THE BLACK BAZAAR
The Black Bazaar is where players acquire new Gear.
At the beginning of the active player's turn:
Reveal 2 Cards
Reveal 2 cards in the Black Bazaar.
The active player chooses ONE of them.
The active player must choose one of two actions:
EQUIP
Pay the card's printed Gold Cost and equip the card to your Hero.
OR
SELL
Discard the card and gain +1 Gold.
To gain the Gold, take 1 Gold card and place it face down in your Gold pile.
5. THE SECOND CARD — SEALED AUCTION
The card that the active player did not choose is immediately put up for a sealed-bid auction.
Only the other players participate in the auction.
Each player secretly chooses:
- 0 Gold — Pass
- Or a bid of at least the card's printed Gold Cost.
A player cannot bid more Gold than they currently possess.
Winning the Auction
The player with the highest bid wins the card.
Ties
If two or more players make the same highest bid, the winner is the player closest to the active player's left.
Payment
The auction winner:
- Pays the winning bid.
- Gives the Gold directly to the active player's Gold pile.
- Equips the auctioned card.
The winning bid is not discarded.
6. EQUIPMENT SLOTS
Gear is equipped to the appropriate slot on your Hero.
When equipping a new card into a slot that is already occupied, the player must choose what happens to the old card.
OPTION 1 — KEEP AS GOLD
Place the replaced card into your face-down Gold pile.
The card becomes +1 Gold.
OPTION 2 — DISCARD
Discard the replaced card instead.
This rule applies both to the active player and to the winner of an auction.
7. ATTACK
Your Hero's Attack is the total Attack value of all your equipped Gear.
Total Attack
Total Attack = Attack from all equipped Gear
There are no dice, HP, damage, or Boss Attack rolls.
Combat is resolved using a single number.
