The Halloween ARTivity Book is a collection of hands-on Halloween art activities built around the Elements of Art and Principles of Design, for grades 1 to 6. Students explore line, color, texture, value, pattern, symmetry and movement through Halloween-themed challenges, drawings and art prompts.

It is made for classroom teachers, art teachers and homeschool parents who want to teach art through October. Use the pages as independent handouts, quick finishers or sub plans, or put them together as a full booklet. Students can work in wax crayons, colored pencils, felt markers, watercolor paint, soft pastels, oil pastels or tempera paint.

WHAT TEACHERS ARE SAYING

★★★★ “I like this resource for the Halloween season. It deals with the holiday (which the kids love!) but also has purposeful intentions. We focus on art elements in a fun manner and the kids don't realize it's "work"!” Keilah H.

HOW TO USE IT

Use the two-page lesson plan to guide your teaching, photocopy pages as sketchbook inserts, or bind the set (or use duotangs) to make a complete Halloween art booklet. Depending on your schedule, the booklet can provide 2 to 4 weeks of activities.

It also works well for sub or emergency lessons, early finisher stations, art-on-a-cart and limited-material classrooms, and homeschool or learning-at-home projects. Students build fine motor skills, creativity and confidence along the way.
