This book consists of three short stories: “Deep Fate”, “Deep Exodus” and “Deep Return”.

In the near future, an expedition deep in the Mariana Trench uncovers a groundbreaking mineral. This discovery prompts urgent questions and ethical decisions. As secrets that could reshape our understanding of history and the future come to light, "Deep Fate" offers a thought-provoking exploration of our past, legacy and future.

Fifty years after the discoveries in "Deep Fate," humanity faces extinction from an impending asteroid and environmental collapse caused by the discovery of a new mineral. This mineral, once a beacon of technological progress, now drives Earth towards being uninhabitable due to toxic emissions from its extraction. With the planet's doom imminent, humans have to exodus planet Earth. "Deep Exodus" delves into themes of legacy and resilience as humanity seeks a new beginning among the stars.

In “Deep Return” the mission is to regenerate life on Earth.

"The six themes grief, depression, free will, death, rejuvenation, and life are not separate ideas. They collide. Free will runs into death in Deep Fate. Life fades into depression in Deep Exodus. Grief and rejuvenation finally meet each other in Deep Return. I knew the shape of the trilogy before I knew the details. At its core, the trilogy is asking one question... whether we can survive the things we can't prevent. Someone close to me died. That's where it started. Deep Fate is about grief and about fate you can't change, no matter what you try. The inevitable comes regardless. Deep Exodus is also about grief, but it goes further into depression and sadness. It's told from the perspective of a body being cremated, no longer existing. It's not really about a body, though it's about the planet. Deep Return is about healing on its own timeline. It's about hope, rejuvenation, and actually seeking help for depression and other struggles."
