The west coast of North America is currently playing a game of “The Air Is Lava”, so what better time to release this flame-inspired design? You can make the squares when it’s hot, and save the join for when it has cooled down (I assume it will cool down eventually… right? I mean… right?)

The idea behind the All Squared Away patterns is to take the traditional granny square pattern and make it sing! These patterns are designed to use squares of different sizes, which makes them ideal for using up scraps; while the joining method used cuts down on the number of ends you need to weave in.

Finished size is approximately 8 times bigger than your 6-round square. Sample measures 50” square.

Though it uses granny squares, this is not a beginner pattern. It’s all about the joining method.

This pattern uses the continuous joining method described in this tutorial: https://www.ravelry.com/discuss/fantasticmio/4069169/1-25

or this video tutorial: https://youtu.be/LO40rxGSxpM

A PDF version of this joining method is included with this pattern download.

This pattern includes both right- and left-handed joining schematics.

This was designed with using up scraps in mind. Gauge isn’t critical, as granny squares are quite forgiving.

Yarn needed for the join is estimated at 900 yards
